Illustrator Benoît Adanhoumè

Adéagbo started in 1995 to use paintings with his choice of images and texts in his installations. Observing during his first exhibition participation in 1994 in France visitors lost and confused in front of paintings in dire need for texts that explain them,He realized that he cannot paint. Therefore, he commissioned them from a publicity sign-painter back in Cotonou. Elie Adanhoumè worked for Adéagbo until he died in 2011. Then his younger brother, Benoît Adanhoumè took over. The illustrator is free to choose back-ground colors and adjust the proportions of the images, yet may not change the order or content of the texts. They sign with their alias names "EPRIT" and his successor "Petit frère ESPRIT".
